Milton Keynes Ladies' Charity Table Tennis Tournament: 14 Women and £650 Raised for Breast Cancer Now

At the Milton Keynes Table Tennis Centre in England, on September 6, 2026, fourteen women took part in the second annual ladies' charity table tennis tournament. Organizer Julie Snowdon, a Table Tennis England staff member and secretary of the centre, designed the event around fun and fair play. Many entrants came from the centre's monthly ladies-only sessions. The tournament used two group rounds, then a main final and a consolation final. It raised £650 for Breast Cancer Now and collected more than 100 bras for recycling through Against Breast Cancer. The technical analysis of the event is intentionally empty: no rankings, no statistics, no complex tactics. But this absence is meaningful. A consolation final offers a player who lost early the chance to leave as an active participant, not a silent dropout. Grassroots initiatives like this are the sediment beneath professional table tennis. Without places where beginners feel welcome, talent pipelines have no foundation.
