In that way, a blank analytical framework is more honest than a fabricated one. It exposes the limits of our knowledge instead of hiding them behind confident language. Yet I do not want to romanticize emptiness. If a sports newsroom publishes a 2,237-word article that says nothing, it has likely failed its readers. The problem does not lie in the N/A itself; it lies in the decision to present the N/A as a finished product. A journalist should use a blank space as a reason to dig deeper, to find the missing contract, the missing statistic, the missing interview. That is where the real story begins. The empty matrix also reminds me of a broader lesson from sports analytics: numbers are never the whole truth. A player can have an outstanding expected assists figure but fail mentally in a final. Another player can appear overpriced in a transfer market, then become a superstar. The market prices emotion as much as talent. Two million euros is not an answer; it is a question.
